The first Mildreds opened on Greek Street in 1988. Our ambition was to serve delicious vegetarian food to the discerning inhabitants and nighthawks of Soho that was anything but bland or boring.

Fast forward over 35 years and we’ve expanded beyond our Soho base with restaurants in Covent Garden, Camden Town, Kings Cross, Dalston and Victoria, each offering fantastic hospitality as well as an adventurous menu of globally inspired food and drink.

Most importantly of all, we’re no longer simply vegetarian, having gone completely plant-based in 2021. With our series of best selling cookbooks and plans to grow even more, we want to ensure that no matter where you are, there is always incredible vegan food near you.

Whilst we may be bigger, our vision remains simple: fantastic food and drink for everyone, that just happens to be vegan, with an all-day and night menu that changes with the seasons. And it seems our guests agree, having named us London’s favourite vegan restaurant in 2023.

innovation

Here at Mildreds, we never play it safe. Thanks to our in-house development team, led by Mildreds creative director Sarah Wasserman, we pride ourselves on pioneering new flavours and bold ideas into every dish to treat our guests to the most exciting, cutting edge vegan food in the world.

people

Great cooking and service begins with great people. At the heart of Mildreds is our amazing team and we pride ourselves on investing in talent, with a belief that career development and training is central to our future.

sustainability

Mildreds is a waste conscious establishment with a ‘root to tip’ philosophy, ensuring that as much of each plant based ingredient is used across our food and drinks menu - whether as the star of the show or working their magic to prepare stocks, dashis, cordials and shrubs.

We source all our ingredients responsibly: organic where possible and locally whenever we can, with a commitment to only using ingredients when they are in season.

Our suppliers are carefully selected for quality and sustainability and, as much as possible, are small businesses that offer artisan techniques and personality in their products, to ensure that our guests receive the very best vegan experience possible.

giving back

As well as environmental responsibility, we’re dedicated to being a force for good in the local community by supporting organisations that help others, including:

Plan Zheroes - a London based initiative that donates surplus food to local charities and foodbanks.

Streetsmart - an incredible organisation who raise funds for the homeless and who we have partnered with for the past 20 years.

Spread a Smile - a registered charity that supports the wellbeing of seriously ill and hospitalised children during extended hospital stays and treatment.
